The Christening of the USNS John Glenn
San Diego, California
February 2014
What an exciting time for Geof (and the Glenns!) After many years and even more trips to San Diego, Geof (and others') hard work was showcased with the weekend ceremonies of the christening of the USNS John Glenn.
The Glenn family was in attendance. We all chatted, laughed, learned naval architecture, and had a great time! The weekend began with a practice swing of the champagne bottle by Lyn Glenn, a small group tour and then a delicious, intimate dinner at the Marriott. The next day we reconvened at NASCO Shipyard where we had many high officials speak, praise, recognize and christen the ship. Geof was beaming - proud papa! We capped off the celebration with a delicious luncheon. It was a wonderful weekend.
